For this Earth Day update we take a look back at the state of the environment before the first Earth Day in 1970 and in My Blog I describe the recycling project founded by my friend and classmate Claudia Myers in 1971. This motley bunch of High School students ran the can recycling program for our Detroit suburb, convincing the town it could be done. For this we won a presidential award!!
